Diet Facts and Fantasies:

  • Fact: A companion dog needs a different diet then a working dog.
  • Fact: Stress is created in your dog’s body by not feeding correctly.
  • Fact: Animal proteins are complete and contain all essential amino acids.
  • Fantasy: Chemical preservatives are necessary to keep food from spoiling.
  • Fact: Most common allergies are from corn, wheat, rice and rye.
  • Fact: Food should have at least 2 of the first 3 ingredients listed as animal proteins.

Ask yourself:

  • What is in the diet I am feeding my companion now?
  • How can I improve it?
  • What are the elements of a well-balanced diet?
  • What is the right type of diet for my dog?
  • What do the experts say?
  • How does it fit our way of life?
