Dental Care for Your Pets

2 Hour Workshop

Your pet’s teeth, like your own, if not cared for can develop plaque leading to excessive tartar buildup which can lead to gum inflammation and tooth loss.  Other health problems like kidney, heart and liver diseases have been linked to poor dental health.

According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, more than 80% of dogs and 70% of cats develop periodontal disease by the age of 3 years. You pet’s mouth is an ideal breeding ground for bacteria.  Anatomy and Physiology of teeth and signs and symptoms will be covered. Prevention along with how to brush your pet’s teeth and what options are available will be discussed.

  • Pet periodontal disease is a life long health concern.  Prevention is the best medicine.
  • “Doggie” or “Kitty” breath is not normal and a sign of poor oral hygiene.
  • Teeth should be white and the gums pink.
  • Proper care, maintenance and nutrition can help your pet have a healthier mouth and live longer.
